JUNIOR ACADEMY FAQ’S

What is Junior Academy?

The Academy program is for players U8, U9 & U10 (born 2011-2009) who are ready for more of a challenge than recreational soccer and is their first opportunity to be trained by our professional coaches.

Who do we play against?

We participate in the Lonestar Jr. Academy League.  LT Elite competes with other teams including LoneStar and FC Westlake.

When can my son/daughter join the Academy?

This Fall we will be enrolling players born between 2011-2009.

What equipment does my player need?

For each practice and game players need soccer specific shoes (cleats or turf shoes), a size 4 soccer ball, shinguards (worn under the socks), and a water bottle. They will be required to wear our training uniform that is part of the uniform kit.

Is it possible to come into the Academy program with a friend and play on the same team?

If they are at the same playing level they can remain together. If they are at different playing levels, they may be moved to different teams based on our observation periods.

Who coaches the teams?

All Academy teams are coached by our professional staff. All coaches are PCA certified.

How are teams formed?

Teams will be formed based on results from existing players in the program & our Player Opportunity Events. We will use the first few weeks of each season as an evaluation period that our staff will use to place players on teams based on skill and ability.  Each family will receive an email at the end of observations notifying them of their team and the coach that will be assigned to the team.

When are practice sessions?

Each team will practice twice a week at the Field of Dreams. Depending on enrollment it will either be Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday.

How many games are in the season?

Teams will have 8-12 games per season.

When and Where will the games be played ?

Games will be played at the Field of Dreams or at various locations around Austin, including: Town & Country, Westlake High School, & Williamson County Regional Park. All games are played Saturday between 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM and/or Sundays between 12:00- 5:45 PM. We make every effort to keep games on Saturdays.

What size ball is used?

Academy players use a size 4 ball.

What is the refund policy?

There is a $35 admin fee for all refunds processed prior to the first date of training.  After these dates there are no refunds.
